Dublin Port is recruiting for the role of Civil Engineer on a permanent basis. The Civil Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering Function with a primary focus on the technical management of civil, structural and utilities assets. DPC have commenced an extensive capital investment programme, as part of Masterplan 2040. Throughout the development of Masterplan 2040, the Civil Engineer role will be instrumental in assisting in the coordination and delivery of all future civil, structural and utilities assets.

The Person

The person we are looking for will be a highly motivated Engineer, who possess extensive experience, strong communication skills.

Must Have/Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 7 Qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the asset management of civil and/or structural assets, particularly experience in roads, bridges and underground utilities and services.
  • Project Management Experience
  • Experience in the development of technical specifications for procurement
  • Excellent technical knowledge of relevant regulations and standards associated with civil, structural and utilities infrastructure
  • Contract Administration & Contractor Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; Computer Aided Design (CAD) and project scheduling software such as MS Project.
  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organisational skills.

An Advantage but not Essential:

  • Port/Maritime Experience
  • Health & Safety Qualification
  • Project Management Qualification
  • Management Systems e.g. ISO55001.
  • Technical knowledge of corrosion protection methods
  • Use of land surveying equipment
  • Location of underground services and safe dig techniques
  • Traffic management
  • Leak detection
