Double Bill: The Smell of Money + Anchors Aweigh

Dublin Port are delighted to partner with Dublin International Film Festival again this year to bring this double bill to the Substation.
THE SMELL OF MONEY
The Los Angeles Harbour in the early 20th Century was a bustling hub, attracting immigrants from around the world in pursuit of the American dream and economic opportunity. A big part of that history was the fishing and canning industry, an era now celebrated in a new documentary commissioned by the Port of Los Angeles.
ANCHORS AWEIGH
Starring Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly, this classic Hollywood musical combines high-energy song-and-dance sequences with the charm of a sailor’s adventures in port. The film follows two Navy men on leave in Los Angeles, where they find themselves entangled in the life of a young woman and her dreams of stardom.
These films will be screened with Descriptive Subtitles for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SDH).
