Dublin Port operates and maintains an Environmental Management System (EMS) to minimise our environmental footprint while achieving sustainable operations. The purpose of our EMS is to establish a structured approach to managing and reducing the environmental impact of Dublin Ports operations. The system is designed to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, promote the efficient use of resources, and continually improve our environmental performance.
Dublin Ports EMS is externally reviewed and certified by the EcoPorts network following the framework outlined in the Port Environmental Review System (PERS) standard. Certification to the PERS system ensures that environmental matters specific to port operations are considered in all of Dublin Ports operations.
Dublin Ports key objectives include:
Our EMS is based on internationally recognised standards and comprises several critical components:
Dublin Port regularly engage with its stakeholders including employees, customers, regulatory bodies, and the local community, to ensure transparency, accountability, and collaboration in our environmental efforts. By integrating environmental management into every aspect of Dublin Ports operations, we strive to consistently deliver sustainability in port operations.
Access to information on the environment is important to enable members of the public to know and understand what is happening in the environment around them.
The European Communities (Access to Information on the Environmental Regulations) 2007 to 2018 (the “AIE Regulations”) provide a statutory basis for members of the public to seek and gain access to environmental information held by public authorities.
Environmental information which is held by or for Dublin Port Company may be provided to any person who requests it under the AIE Regulations.
