At Dublin Port, we value the Partnerships and Connections we have built throughout the decades and continue to build those connections today. These connections and partnerships assist Dublin Port in building a positive relationship with those in surrounding areas and beyond.
Dublin Port has been working with The Little Museum of Dublin for the last six years. This partnership has brought many opportunities to both parties and has welcomed many exciting initiatives throughout the years. In the past few years we have had many new exhibitions with the latest exhibition being the first to be hosted in the newly developed Substation.
Dublin Port works in partnership with the 5 Lamps on a series of walking tours each year as part of the annual 5 Lamps Arts Festival. Throughout the Festival Dublin Port host walking tours for the public, delving deep into Dublin Ports rich history.
Dublin Port Company and the Arts Council have partnered to develop a dedicated workspace for artists within the former Odlum’s site. This collaboration addresses Dublin’s critical shortage of artist workspaces, a challenge highlighted by recent research. The project, guided by the masterplan prepared by Grafton Architects, aims to create 5,000 square meters of versatile art spaces, including studios and rehearsal rooms.
Dublin Port works in a close relationship with Anu Productions and have produced many spectacular performances in the Pumphouse in recent years. One prominent feature was the remembrance of the decade of commemorations 2017 to 2022. Our work with Anu has also produced the highly anticipated Book of Names, playing on the Book of Names and the history of Dublin Port.
In 2024 Dublin Port partnered with Temple Bar Galleries & Studios to take residency in the newly refurbished Pumphouse. A series of amazing exhibitions by two well known artists will run for the duration of the summer until October 2024.
Dublin Port has had a strong partnership with Open House Dublin over the past ten years. Each year during the architectural festival, Dublin Port works with Open House Dublin to welcome visitors to the Port to explore the Cities and Dublin Ports’ expansive history throughout the centuries.
Dublin Port has welcomed Ireland’s Fittest Family to the Port for the past two years as they film the series finale with the very worthy families.
The Casting of the Spear is an age old tradition where the Lord Mayor of Dublin, becomes Honorary Admiral of Dublin Port. The title of Honorary Admiral of Dublin Port has been bestowed on the Lord Mayor of Dublin for over 20 years. The tradition dates to the 15th century and has long been used to signify the close relationship between Dublin City and the Port.
Dublin Port has been delighted to welcome the Fishamble Theatre Company to Dublin Port in recent years for the presentation of their fantastic productions. In 2022 Fishamble Theatre Company held the showings of Fishamble’s Outrage a story following two sisters, exploring the true nature of women’s role in the Irish revolutionary wars, and particularly the Civil War in 1922.
Bullock Harbour Preservation Association (BHPA) in conjunction with Dublin Port wired together in 2019 for an exhibition on the history and heritage of Bullock given by excellent speakers from the Port Company and elsewhere. The lectures took place in Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre.
Ports, Past and Present looked at Dublin Port and how the community is connected and intertwined with the ferry route that serves it.
Dublin Port has a strong, ongoing relationship with Failte Ireland having worked closely with them on many projects in the past and on current projects underway. The most recent and well-known projects being the Docklands Trail and the Dublin Port Greenway.
